My Collection is called "MAKIAJ" wich means in Arabic as much as "CHANGE". In my collection I want to realize the change between tradition and modernity and combine modern cuts with traditional embroidery and patterns. I traveled to Marrakesh and got inspired by patterns and cultural influences and bought fabrics, embroidery and tassels in the souks of Marokko. I work exclusively with natural fabrics such as linen, silk and viscose, as these fabrics give the wearer an unmistakable wearing sensation.
Creating a collection is a long, time consuming and interesting process. The garment undergoes a constant change in this process up to the finished piece.
These embroidery come from decorative pillows, which I bought in in the Moroccan Souks.
In my collection, I work with playful Moroccan details and try to create something completely new out of an already existing embroidery.
I blend this piece of tradition with modern silhouettes, but one big concern for me was to only work with natural fabrics like linen or silk.
